This painting was inspired from a trip that I took to Paris in 2000. I've always been fascinated with cemeteries and just had to go to Pere Lachaise, where Jim Morrison of the Doors is buried.
I walked into the cemetery on a cold winter day, while looking at my map, I heard faintly in the distance, "Riders On The Storm". I thought I was hallucinating. There with goosebumps up and down my arms. I looked around and, in an apartment building across the street, I noticed a hippie (clearly from the 60's) waving and smiling from his window, his record player turned for my entertainment. This piece was created from that experience.viasilviathornton.typepad.com
I love the way you worked with the purple. I think that this would be the perfect piece to add sound to. Great job an all! thanks for the BLOG.
